Ferris State University is located in Big Rapids, Mich., just a few miles east of the Manistee National Forest. Students at Ferris State University can earn bachelor’s degrees in arts, integrative studies, science, and social work. Graduate students can earn master’s degrees in several fields as well, including health and art. Students can enhance their studies through the Ferris State Torchbearer Society, which connects them with alumni who work in their area of study.

Besides academics, Ferris State students can get involved by joining more than 200 campus clubs and pledging with the school’s many Greek-letter organizations. Students can also attend the many events planned by the Entertainment Unlimited campus programming board, such as the annual Ferris Fest music festival, as well as comedy shows, film screenings, and lectures. Student athletes can try out for the crimson and gold Ferris State Bulldogs varsity sports teams, which compete in the NCAA Division I in hockey and Division II in every other sport. Notable Ferris State alumni include professional hockey player Chris Kunitz.
