Belmont University is a Christian school just two miles southwest of Nashville. Because Belmont students are so close to “Music City U.S.A.,” it’s no surprise that many of them have focused their studies and activities on the entertainment industry. Students can study in the Curb College of Entertainment & Music Business, participate in the annual Christmas at Belmont concert that’s featured on PBS, or try out the school’s newest major—songwriting. Belmont, however, isn’t all about music. The school offers more than 75 undergraduate degrees and 20 master’s programs, including graduate degrees offered by the Jack C. Massey Graduate School of Business. Belmont students must live in university housing the first two years and can participate in activities such as Greek life, student government, and many other organizations. Belmont’s sports team is The Bruins, which compete in the NCAA Division I Atlantic Sun Conference. Belmont alumni include country musicians Trisha Yearwood, Lee Ann Womack, Brad Paisley, and Josh Turner.
